SPIRIT-LED BIBLE STUDY

Whether you're opening the Bible for the first time or have been reading it for years, Spirit-Led Bible Study introduces small groups to a foundational set of practices (similar to the inductive Bible study method)—that you can apply to any passage of your Bible so that you can encounter the living God in the word of God.

Each session (video access code included) introduces one practice that you'll be able to incorporate into your small group and personal reading time. You'll learn the biblical foundation for that practice and then experience it three ways: watch Alli guide her small group through it, try it with your group, and then experiment on your own as you listen to the Holy Spirit along the way.

If you have ever asked, "Why do my prayers seem ineffective?", "Why don’t I ever hear God’s voice?" or "Why do I feel stuck in my faith?"—then Spirit-Led Bible Study is for you.

Experience a personal connection with the Holy Spirit every time you read the Bible.

What You’ll Learn

6 Practices that bring the Bible to life in any passage you read.

  • Observation: Learn the art of seeing only and exactly what is in the text itself. Cultivate eyes to see the written words of the Bible more clearly than ever before.

  • Listening: Use your spiritual ears to hear what the Holy Spirit raises to your awareness while you're reading scripture so the Bible connects to your real life.

  • Orientation: Get your bearings inside the Bible by answering the questions of WHO, WHERE & WHEN for everything you read.

  • Prayer: Make the words of the Bible the foundation of your prayers so you can pray according to the character and priorities of God.

  • Context: Search for full meaning of what you're reading by asking and answering WHAT & WHY questions as you read. Find out what God meant by what God said.

  • Action: Learn to make and follow through on your commitment to put the Word of God into practice in your life so its truth becomes visible in your life every day.

  • Fantastic study whether individually or in a small group. This is the most helpful study I’ve found on teaching how to read the Bible. It covers the important traditional aspects of studying Scripture like recognizing the literary context and historical background, but also goes further with showing how to also connect with God and the biblical text.

  • This is THE book I've been waiting for for years!! This is a Masterclass in Moving from "Reading" to "Relating" For years, I’ve held a persistent conviction: most people miss the heartbeat of Scripture because they skim the surface. We live in a world of "verse-of-the-day" snapshots, yet we often ignore the context, the history, and the specific weight of the words on the page. If you have ever felt that there has to be more to engaging with the Word than just checking a box, Alli Patterson’s Spirit-Led Bible Study is the guide you’ve been waiting for.

  • The beginning of the book is an introduction on how to study the Bible which I found so helpful. There are videos that coincide with the book that you access through a website and code available on the front cover...and are very informative. The author is very professional and thorough, in both the book and the videos. The book itself is very in depth and personal. It helps guide you to really think and experience the passages in a whole different way. I like how it is spirit led 100% which helps the reader really feel connected. The approach aligns with how [my] pastor...preaches, focusing on the individual relationship with Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • This workbook's combination of guided practice framework, written exercises, and streaming video creates a three-channel engagement approach that serves individual and group study contexts. The six-practice structure provides a curriculum rather than a reading plan — skills development rather than just content coverage.
